At the Integrated Community Action Network (ICAN), we believe in the inherent dignity and potential of every individual, regardless of their background or social status, within Somalia’s minority and marginalized communities. We believe in the power of collaboration, innovation, and sustainable solutions to address the unique challenges and inequities faced by these underrepresented groups.

We believe in fostering local ownership, empowerment, and resilience among minority ethnic groups, women, religious minorities, the economically disadvantaged, and other marginalized populations as key drivers for positive and lasting change. We believe in uplifting the voices, experiences, and leadership of these communities to shape the development and humanitarian initiatives that affect their lives.

Above all, we believe in the importance of empathy, compassion, and solidarity in building a brighter, more inclusive, and equitable future for all Somalis. We are committed to challenging systemic barriers, promoting social cohesion, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of a prosperous and resilient Somalia.

Through our work, we strive to create an environment where minority and marginalized communities can thrive, their rich cultural heritage is celebrated, and they have the opportunity to fully participate in and benefit from the country’s progress and development.
