ICAN PROGRAMS

ICAN PROGRAMS

General Protection

The Integrated Community Action Network (ICAN) aims to identify and address protection concerns and human rights violations among vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected individuals in targeted areas through a comprehensive protection monitoring system.

Gender-Based Violence

ICAN seeks to enhance case management by directly assisting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and providing immediate life-saving support to vulnerable populations. This includes comprehensive case management and psychosocial support (PSS), emergency care, and referrals to medical teams.

Child Protection

ICAN aims to ensure that girls and boys have access to adequate child protection services and are safeguarded from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation both at home and within the community. It also ensures that affected children receive appropriate support through the case management process.

Education

ICAN works to ensure dignified community access to quality education by collaborating with government ministries and stakeholders. Priority is given to children from vulnerable and marginalized groups, ensuring their equal rights to quality basic education with support from donors and the education cluster.

Health and Nutrition

ICAN focuses on improving sustainable nutrition and providing primary healthcare services to vulnerable communities, with a special emphasis on child and maternal health to save the lives of expectant mothers and infants.

Food security and livelihood

Integrated Community Action Network (ICAN) aims to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable community members through the provision of conditional and unconditional cash transfers which can empower economic and skill development in marginalized communities.

WASH

ICAN aims to enhance the living conditions of vulnerable community members through conditional and unconditional cash transfers, empowering economic and skill development in marginalized communities. Tailored support for agricultural and livestock production aims to establish sustainable and resilient livelihood opportunities.

Camp Coordination

ICAN works to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable host communities in Somalia. Collaboration with institutions like schools and health facilities addresses challenges in water, sanitation, and hygiene, ultimately restoring dignity to affected populations.

Shelter and NFI

ICAN strives to ensure equitable access to services such as humanitarian assistance and protection for internally displaced persons (IDPs) to enhance their quality of life and dignity. Additionally, it supports the improvement of site maintenance and monitoring capacities, often through cash-for-work activities
